  Interesting question.

  Short answer is YES.

  although my definition is different than yours minimus.

  I feel no spiritual connection to any silly man made superstitious religious group / cult - however....

  I do feel much more of what I call a spiritual connection to my fellow humans, and to the world and universe around me.

  Spiritual more in the sense of the native north American Indians style without the religious superstition part. From studying science, in particular biology and physics, I realize how we are all beautifully connected. This creates in me, what I call a spiritual essence that I simply did not have in the very physical black and white world of JW-Dom.

  I wanted to add that I now find great satisfaction in supporting these kind of organizations now.

  Money that formerly went towards supporting a child molester protecting publishing empire now goes to helping the truly unfortunate in this world.

  This makes The Oracle very happy!

  As a former elder I can tell you that we would "counsel" anyone who was known to have donated to such an organization (one that helps feed the poor)

  We would tell them that these organizations were under the direct control of Satan and at the very best, all they would bring is temporary relief. We would point out that they are very corrupt and most of the money never reaches the poor people you are trying to help.

  We would also remind them that when they donate to promote the kingdom worldwide work, ALL of their money goes toward furthering KINGDOM interests and that the benefits will LAST FOREVER.

  There were two different individuals that I remembering counselling like this. I wonder what they are thinking now if they have got wind of the millions of dollars of their donations that have gone to pay people for their silence in child abuse settlements over the years. Not exactly ALL of their money going toward the worldwide work is it?

  Why is Jesus never mentioned in the OT ?

  lots of people seem to love jesus because they think hes somebody special.

  if he was the son of god, how come in over a thousand pages of holy writings and almost millions of words he is never mentioned by name or position.

  i know the jw pretend he is by way of poor word play, however it just seems weird that someone so important is not mentioned at all directly.

  Simply because Jehovah did not write the bible.

  It is poorly written because it was written for the most part by ancient farmers and sheep herders who were not very educated.

  Jesus was not mentioned by name because the guys who wrote the books that eventually were chosen to be included in the old testament could not tell the future.

  i'm curious how many people here joined the dubs after becoming disillusioned with, or having recently left another religion.. same question for how many joined another church soon after leaving dubbery (and prior to going through a thorough healing process first).. thanks.

  I watched my first demonic movie today...

  It's One of the most dramatic benefits you will discover after you have your awakening!

  No need to fear the dark or anything demonic.

  We can now comfortably spend the night in any "haunted house" and sleep like a baby.

  JWs are like small children when it comes to this area - the fear you develop for the underworld is very real, since as a JW you have no doubt that Satan and his demons are very real, very angry, and are particularly upset with YOU as servants of his arch enemy Jehovah.

  Why do 7 million + people keep excusing ,rationalising , justifying ,failed expectations of prophecy`s these past 130 + years of Jehovah`s Witnesses non events

  It's fascinating to know that so many are still in it.

  The social pressure to stay in quite powerful. The socially weak and cowardly ones are virtually chained to the organization. There is no escape for them - even if they know it's all nonsense. Others are trapped for other reasons that they can't overcome and so must stay in and live a lie. I had to do this myself for a while after my awakening, but fortunately it all turned out well.

  If only more JWs could see what we get to see...

  For the most part - The rats in their cages are unaware of what happens in the real world. They are trapped in a matrix controlled by the watchtower and elder "agents".

  The good news is - more and more JWS are stumbling upon information from the Internet and are getting curious, and mustering up courage to have a look at information not filtered by the WT.

  Knowledge will lead to freedom.

  A mind is a terrible thing to waste.
